The problem with the Buccos is that every guy can play multiple positions. That may sound good on the surface, but the problem is that no player has mastered how to play one position. Except Laroche maybe, but I wouldn't call what he does mastery by any means.
I think versatility is good to have when it's exclusively your bench. It does seem like the Pirates have a lot of guys on their team that pretty much can play a lot of positions, okay, but none that are masters are any position. Only exception might be Ronny Cedeno. He is tailor made for the short stop position.
